The owner of this simple but robust grade two listed Welsh village house asked us to design and build a large orangerie and working greenhouse, both having easy access from the house.
The cast iron semi-circular windows are a very distinctive feature of the house, so we took a sample and had it reproduced in iron.
The stonework on the house, mined from a long closed local quarry, has a singular texture. We took a silicone rubber mould from the walls, and cast the masonry for the orangerie in a matching faux stone.
With time the new building will blend in with the original.
