The north west elevation of this cottage in Wales had only very small windows facing towards an impressive view. We designed a new extension overlooking the view which gets flooded with afternoon and evening sunlight, put dormers in the existing bedroom and landing to bring more light into a gloomy first floor, and raised the roof on the single storey part of the cottage to form a second bedroom. We also added a large garage and utility room. The windows and all external joinery are of Oak. New stone flooring throughout the entire ground floor is layed over underfloor heating.
